What I Did Instead of Starting Over

"We can only do the best we can with what we have. That, after all, is the measure of success: what we do with what we have." — Marguerite de Angeli

I just wrapped up a week in Barcelona, where I was in full vacation mode.

Decadent dinners. Lots of wine. Zero workouts.

(Unless you count walking a TON, which…I absolutely do 😉)

Now I’m in Rennes, France — a small city where my husband has business events all week.

Even though my husband is working, I could’ve easily kept going with full-on “vacation mode”.

But I didn’t.

On my first day here, I went to the supermarket and stocked up on lentils, eggs, Greek yogurt, hummus, fresh fruit, and veggies.

I also did a quick bodyweight workout in our Airbnb.

Not because I felt guilty.

Not because I needed to “make up for” vacation.

But because I know what helps me feel my best.

And because I miss that stuff (and how it makes me feel) when I go too long without it.

Now, are ALL the meals I'm eating this week my "ideal" meals?

Nope.

Is this workout routine anything like my usual?

Also nope.

But it’s loads better than skipping it all and telling myself,

“I’ll just start fresh when I get back home.”

Because that, my friend, is the voice of all-or-nothing thinking.

And if that voice has ever derailed you in the past?

You’re not alone.

It’s one of the biggest blockers to consistency I see in my clients.

And the worst part? It’s sneaky.

Because it sounds reasonable.

You tell yourself:

“I’ll get back on track Monday.”

“I’ll just wait until work settles down.”

“I'll start again after summer is over.”

And your brain is like, Yes! That makes so much sense. There’s no point doing anything now because you can’t do it perfectly. Better to wait until you can do it the ‘right’ way.

But then?

The reasons you tell yourself why “now isn’t a good time” just keep multiplying.

Those “fresh starts” keep piling up…

And your healthy habits,

They never quite stick.

If that sounds familiar, you’re not broken.

You’re not lazy.

You just need a different strategy.

That’s exactly why I created The Follow-Through Fix — a low-cost, personalized video review that helps you uncover your top 3 consistency blockers and gives you clear, doable action steps to move forward.

No more trying to do it all perfectly.

No more pushing through with more effort.

Just a better way to follow through — one that works with your real life.

I’ll be sharing more details soon. Stay tuned. 😉
