So cute...and so confused.
I came across an adorable Instagram reel yesterday, and it was such a perfect metaphor for how we can sometimes be our own biggest obstacle.
The dog in the video was holding a little plush toy in his mouth, but the way he was holding it, the toy’s legs were completely blocking his eyes.
He stood there, clearly confused and distressed, unable to see what was right in front of him.
His owner kept telling him, “Drop it!” But he refused.
Instead, he just stayed stuck, blind to his surroundings, all because he wouldn’t let go of that toy.
And as I watched, I thought: How often do we do the same thing?
So cute...and so confused.
What Are YOU Refusing to Let Go Of?
What are you holding onto that’s keeping you stuck?
What’s blocking your ability to “see” all the options available to you?
If you’re telling yourself, “I’ll get serious in January,” or “I’ll start a new diet after the holidays,” then chances are you’re clutching onto your own version of that plush toy.
For so many of us, that “plushy” is an all-or-nothing mindset.

“I’ve already ‘messed up’ today, so I’ll just start over tomorrow.”
“I know I'm going to be eating a ton of holiday treats, so there’s no point in even trying right now.”
“The holidays are too busy, so I’ll just wait until things settle down.”
This mindset might feel familiar—comfortable, even—but it’s also the very thing that keeps you stuck in a cycle of starting over every January.
What if instead of waiting for the “perfect time,” you started taking small, meaningful steps now?
Steps that help you build the skills and habits you need to stay consistent, even when life gets messy (you know...like during the holidays).
