Last week, I spent a week in Bogotá, Colombia visiting my husband’s friends and family.

One of the highlights of the trip, attending a wedding for my husband’s college friend.
And while I was there, I worked out three times.
But back in May, I spent a week in Barcelona, Spain...and didn’t work out once.
Here’s why that matters:
In Bogotá, I’ve already done most of the touristy things before. This trip was about family and friends, which meant I had a little more downtime.
And since I love the way a good workout makes me feel, I wanted to fit it in.
Barcelona was different. I don’t know if I’ll ever make it back again. There were so many places to see, foods to try, experiences to have.
So I decided I didn't want any of my precious time there being spent on a workout.
And guess what...?
I didn’t feel guilty in Barcelona.
But I also didn’t feel obligated in Bogotá.
Because my choices were based on what mattered most to ME in that context, not on rigid rules about what I “should” do.
And that right there?
That’s the difference between a standard diet and the Empowered Eating Blueprint.
