How to Stay Healthy During Chaotic Seasons
Over the last couple of weeks, my routine has been far from my “normal.”
First, I wrapped the Capsule Cooking launch (and worked more hours than I care to admit). Then we packed up the car and drove to my mom’s house in Tennessee. A few days later, we flew to New York for a concert and a birthday party. Then we flew back on Sunday and somehow Thanksgiving is tomorrow?!
It has been a whirlwind.
And as a result,
My schedule has been all over the place.
My meals have been incredibly boring.
And my workouts have been short (and also kind of boring).
But honestly, that’s exactly what things needed to look like during this season.
Most women struggle to build consistency with healthy habits because they are endlessly searching for the most “optimal” routine.
The perfect macro split. The most effective workout schedule.
But there is no ONE routine that works all year long.
Every “micro season” looks different.
Some seasons are structured.
Some seasons are chaotic.
Some seasons are full of plans and travel and celebrations.
Some seasons give you space.
Every season requires you to adjust.
That’s why real consistency is built by learning how to flex.
For the past two weeks, here’s what flexing has looked like for me:
Shorter workouts that fit into the pockets of time I had
Super simple meals and lots of grab and go options
Letting go of “perfect” structure so I could prioritize my launch and my social life
Maintaining my non-negotiables, just dialed down a bit
I didn’t expect myself to operate like “ideal Amanda” when real-life Amanda was hopping between states, airports, deadlines, and holiday prep.
And that’s exactly why nothing completely fell apart.
Your micro season deserves the same kind of compassion.
So here’s what I want you to reflect on this week:
What micro season are you currently in
What needs to be turned down a little
And what needs to be protected
You don’t need the perfect routine for the holidays or for ANY time of the year.
You just need the right routine for this season of your life.
And if you want help walking through this, I’m going live today at 2pm Eastern inside The Messy Practice to talk about why “finding balance” doesn’t work and what to focus on instead.
It’ll help you navigate the holidays without guilt, without striving for perfection, and without giving up on yourself.
I’d love to see you there.
To honoring your micro season,
